Laser Service Technician California (USA, independent Contractor)
About us
We are a laser technology company based in Aachen, Germany. Our systems are mainly delivered to universities, research institutes and start-ups that develop new technologies and set up pilot production facilities.
To strengthen our presence in North America, we are looking for a Laser Service Technician based in the Bay Area, California.
Your role
- Install and commission our laser systems at customer sites in California, Colorado, Nova Scotia and British Columbia
- Provide customer training sessions on-site and online (sometimes in the evening, aligned with North American business hours)
- Troubleshoot, service and maintain installed systems
- Support our European service team during their visits to the US
- Act as a local point of contact for selected customers
Your profile
- Solid experience with laser systems (academic, industrial or applied research background)
- Strong skills in electronics/electrical systems, confident with oscilloscopes and measurement tools
- Independent, reliable and well-organized working style
- Previous customer-facing experience is highly desirable
- Based in the Bay Area, California, with willingness to travel in North America
- Good communication skills in English
